The main feature of a sworn translation is it’s official nature, as it is signed and sealed by a sworn translator who has a certification granted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation. However, sworn translation must not be confused with legal translation, since they are completely different types of translations. There are various reasons why a sworn translation may be necessary for the social bylaws of a company. They are usually issued in internalization processes or under penal or legal processes in order to establish commercial action in other countries.

When carrying out procedures in Spain, notarized documents need a sworn translation when required. Also, if they are written in Spanish and you need to submit them in a foreign country for validation.

A sworn translation of the company formation documents, such as its statutes, is mandatory for their validity in the country of destination. For instance, if you want to expand your business in the Italian market, the statutes must be translated into Italian in order to present them to the proper authority and reach your goal.
Patents
A patent gives you the right to manufacture and sell a product during its term. Anytime you want to make it valid internationally, its sworn translation will be mandatory.
Sworn translation will have similar effects to verification by notary, that is, proving the veracity of any document within the business field. Thus, each corporate process carried out which requires a legally valid translation must include a sworn translation. Be aware they will be invalid if you don’t have one!
